  1. A very touching entry, Harriet.
Even if it is easy, in days like these, to feel like to want to give up and leave, it is because of people like you that we must stick together and stay

    thank you

  2. Harriet,

Linden is more likely to read your response if you post it on the official Linden blog. Please reproduce it there too!

  3. I agree, Wildstar we are but one small voice alone but a chorus when joined in harmony.

I posted it on the official Second Life blog forums, Princess. Not sure where you mean?

  4. I think she meant to post it on the blog, and not on the forum threads, at >> http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/10/29/update-regarding-the-openspaces-announcement/ , the latest blog by LL

There is a peaceful group who is repped by a RL lawyer inworld who have mobilized. I am rather thrilled and excited about this. Please, if every one could join! Their name is On-Grid . You can find them in my profile.

Hugs to all, and thank you Princess Ivory for your support!

  6. Yes, Harriet, I meant for you to post on the official Linden blog (which is totally separate from the SL forums, which are mainly used for residents to communicate with each other). The official Linden blog is where all announcements by Linden Lab are made to the residents. A comment there is far more likely to be seen by the Linden staff.

This is the most recent blog post on the official Linden blog, and is where you should post any comments you have: http://forums.secondlife.com/

    Thanks, Therese, for clarifying that.

I will definitely join the On-Grid group.

Although I must say that according to Linden’s official description of the intended usage for Openspace sims, the rental housing, marketplace, and in-world literary events that take place in Milk Wood are in fact in violation of Linden’s terms. Technically, we should be on a private estate sim, not an Openspace sim. And we would have 15000 prims to use, instead of a measly 3750. And we would then create less server load as we would not have to rely on so many scripted temp rezzers for the landscaping.

Not trying to be critical, but did want to point this out. I love my new home in Milk Wood, and I truly hope that one way or another Milk Wood will find a new home that is appropriate for its needs, and within Linden Lab’s guidelines.

  7. Oops – posted wrong blog link. Disregard link to forums in my previous post!

The most recent official Linden blog entry that addresses Openspaces is here:

  8. Princess Ivory,

Thanks for the clarification and the links! And your pointing out of our relationship with the opensim crisis is indeed fine:). Please know, however, that when we bought the sims we did not understand what it meant until now. But we are indeed trying to fix that! We would actually love your ideas and input- please feel free to IM either of us inworld…we are working hard to find solutions!

Also, in regards to our protests, we are not protesting because we believe we are not in violation, but instead believe that the way Linden Labs has decided to handle it has been very unfair across the board and speaks volumes of what they must think of their residents.

    Hope we reached an understanding/clarification,

    Therese

  9. Therese,

I completely understand and agree with your stance. I’m sorry if I did not communicate that clearly. I was not criticizing you or Harriet. I have spoken at length with Harriet, and she made it very clear that she did not realize/understand that she was purchasing void sims. It is truly your estate manager that is at fault for not making that clear, and for not pointing it out when the extend of your development became apparent. They had to have know they were purchasing Openspace, or “void” sims. There is no way to buy them through the Land Store without realizing what you are purchasing from Linden Labs.

Basically, whatever Linden decides to do regarding the tier pricing for the void sims that are allowed to remain, it is pretty clear that Milk Wood will not be acceptable on a void sim, so another solution will have to be found.

We can talk further via email or in world in SL if you would like. My email address is princess.ivory.sl AT gmail.com
